• Extract alumni information from the forms you filled online or offline, either in line format or form format.
• Archive your raw information and acknowledge you of your entry.
• Sort according to last names, department, or other entry.
• Indentify your old entry when you update your information.
• Generate the WWW files that we use at this web site, with proper links to individual homepages if your WWW address is provided.
• Search a person in the data base (accept wildcard! e.g. Yang Z*).
• Combined with CNPRINT "-env1 lastname firstname" option, it automatically searches your data base and prints an envelope with your address as the return address and your friend's address as the receiver address (All CJK encodings are supported).

Although the program is quite "intelligent", we still request you follow the format in the sample form as closely as possible, because when we suspect a problem with your entry, we have to either hand-correct your entry, or (if possible) improve the program, both are time-consuming. We don't want to take the easy option to let your information lost in the computer.

To make your update easier, we have added an option to generate customized registration forms based on your old information in the data base.

Currently the email containing the alumni information is handled by the computer, an automatic acknowledgement will be sent back to you. Under normal circumstance, you will get the reply in a day. If you have given any comments, you will get a seperate reply from the list maintainer.

We are working to convert this email-based processing to web-based, which is real-time processing.
