I think that the idea of merging Wuhan University and HUST is stupid. Wuhan

(Hubei) is big enough to support two major universities. Twenty years from

today people will see this. I see the merger of the two as 1 + 1 < 2.

The whole idea of merging by administrative means is bad --- it is another

way of wasting resources.

You really don't need to merge to make you strong. Just look at how Havard

and MIT cooperate in areas of health sciences.
