HUST's name should NOT be changed

To who it may concern:

It takes a long time to develop a brand name for a university.

Hence, it is imperative that the name be kept unchanged after

reputation of the name was established.

Besides, a name change is unwise in China because the MOE may

start numerous rounds of school reforms and each may require

a name change. Can any school afford such frequent changes?

I fail to understand why some people want to change HUST's

name. If Tongji Medical University insists on a new name, then

we should forgo the merge all together. It is hard, if not

impossible, to see any practical benefit that Tongji Medical

University can get from a brand new name.

I hope that HUST's leaders will not make any stupid mistake.
